Lotus yatra will be conducted by BJP to solve the drinking water issues in Tamilnadu says BJP State Treasurer S.R. Sekar


"As Tamilnadu is facing a severe drought the lakes and ponds should be deepened. BJP party is planning to 10,000 saplings in 5 days in the catchment areas to protect the ground water in future. This massive sapling planting drive is being done as a long-term solution for the drinking water problem that we are currently experiencing. A yatra will be conducted to from March 10th to March 14th for planting the saplings." he said.



“The Siruvani dam has not been deepened. About 40 percent of the dams storage areas is been filled with mud. Tamilnadu government should immediately take necessary steps to deepen the dam after getting necessary permissions from the Kerala government.” this minister said. He also recommended the construction of water sanctuaries in Tamilnadu, as it is in Kerala to store water during the rainy season.

BJP party's zonal State secretary, G.K. Selvaraj, Nandakumar, District president Nandakumar and party members were present during the meet.
