Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) party members are protesting against the attack on their leader M.K. Stalin by the assembly security personnel today in various parts of Tamil Nadu.
In Coimbatore, Former DMK Minister Pongalur Palanisamy lead the protests at the Coimbatore Collectorate. Close to 100 cadres along with the Former Minister courted arrest.
In another incident, the DMK youth wing members led by Kottai Abbas held protests in front of the Corporation building at Town hall in Coimbatore. More than 20 persons participated in this protests. They raised slogans against the assembly speaker and condemned the ill-treat showed on their leader. The protestors were arrested by the Police.
The former minister from DMK Pongalur Palanisamy was arrested for protesting in front of the Coimbatore district collector's office along with more than 100 DMK party members. The protested raised slogans against the speaker. Police arrested the protestors.
The opposition parties today demanded a secret ballot be hosted in the assembly to select the chief minister of our state. However, the assembly speaker rejected their request. This led to a huge commotion in the assembly. The security personnel on duty at the assembly removed the DMK MLAs by force, after the house Speaker ordered an eviction.
In this regard, Stalin conducted protests in front of the Gandhi Statue in Chennai and courted arrest, who was released an hour back.
