Corporation retrieves close to Rs. 150 crores worth of encroached land in 120 days.

The City Corporation is leaving no stone unturned to retrieve the reserve sites and encroached land within the Corporation limits at all five zone in the city. The encroachment drive that started under the leadership of Corporation Commissioner Dr. K. Vijayakarthikeyan commenced in the month of November, 2016.

Following is the list of retrieved sites and their worth:

Total                          12.88 acres        157.45 crores

So far, from the month of November 157.45 crores worth of land has been retrieved from the public. Corporation Commissioner has stated that parks, herbal gardens will be constructed at the retrieved site. At the encroachment drive conducted today at RS Puram - TV Samy Road, Vadavalli, Saravanampatti, Kuniamuthur, Race Course - Income Tax Office road, close to 1.05 acres of land was retrieved. 

The Corporation will continue this drive until all land pertaining to the corporation has been retrieved and boards indicating the ownership are installed at the sites, Special Officer Dr.K. Vijayakarthikeyan assured.
