Hackathon 2017 is a 24 hour non-stop product development contest conducted by Sri Shakthi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore on February 17 and 18, 2017. This is the third edition in the series of 24 hour non-stop competitions held every year at Sri Shakti.



In this competition, various student teams are supposed to develop a mobile application or web application or IoT (Internet of Things) solution. Many Student teams from various colleges in and around Tamilnadu enrolled themselves in this contest.



This event was inaugurated by the honourable guests Mr.Babu vittal, HR Head of shopcules and Ms.Vijayalakshmi senior HR Manager, Payoda on 17/2/2017 by 9.00AM at our college premises. The welcome address was given by the principal Dr.C.Natarajan and the special address was given by Mr.Babu vital. He spoke about the latest trends in web technologies. He insisted the students to think out of box and he raised many questions which would trigger the young minds and also rewarded those who answered his questions. Followed by him Ms.VIjayalakshmi gave a motivational speech on “life and how to face challenges in life” and also she shared her own experiences in facing and overcoming the challenges. She congratulated the students who are participating in this event.



By 10.00 AM the student participants were triggered to develop their applications. After 24 hours of duration, a presentation was given by every student team in front of the juries and 10 best products have been selected. The valedictory session started by 11.00 AM on 18/02/2017. The special invites were Mr.Dilip (IBS), Dr.Vimal (Innnovspace), Mr.Nelson (Tec,Mahindra), Mr.Ganesh Kanna (Impiger Technologies), Mr.Rajmohan (Impiger Technologies). The special invites shared their own ideas in regard to the event and motivated the students to continue the same in everyday from now on. After the special note the winners were announced and rewarded with attractive cash prizes and gadgets. Finally, the Vote of thanks was given by Mr.C.Sheelan Thangavelu, he heartly thanked each and every participants and also the jury members who made the event to run successfully.
