Women’s Day celebrations organized at Special Sub-Jail for Women; various competitions held for inmates

Ravel Diocese and Nirmala Arts College jointly organized various competitions to encourage women prisoners.


Coimbatore: International Women's Day was celebrated at the Special Sub-Jail for Women in Coimbatore Central Jail premises.

In order to encourage the women prisoners, various competitions were conducted and prizes distributed.

A special sub-jail for women is functioning on the premises of Coimbatore Central Prison. There are more than 100 inmates there.

Ravel Diocese and Nirmala Arts College, jointly organized various competitions to encourage women prisoners.

The winners were selected by Deputy Inspector General of Prisons G. Shanmugasundaram and prizes were distributed by Prison superintendent Urmila.

Sweets were distributed to all the inmates on the occasion of the festival. The women inmates said that the Women's Day celebrations gave them a lot of cheer and encouragement.
