In the sale of Aavin goods and products, irregularities and misappropriation funds of up to Rs 38 lakh was found out during an official audit.
Coimbatore: Following irregularities which came to light after an audit to the tune of Rs 38 lakh in the Aavin milk manufacturing unit at Pachapalayam in Perur, seven employees have been placed under suspension, and six others transferred.
Aavin, which operates at Pachapalayam in Perur in Coimbatore, produces 2.17 lakh litres of milk per day. Moreover, 22 varieties of milk by-products and sweets including balpeda, milk halwa, and carrot mysorepa are manufactured here and sold as value-added products.

Three employees involved in the scam have already been suspended. Disciplinary action was taken against them after conducting a departmental inquiry. They agreed to pay back the amount of misappropriation and misappropriation when they received their confession.

“Disciplinary action was taken against three persons for misappropriating lakhs of rupees. It is to be noted that since a person is on the verge of retirement, it has been decided to deduct the misappropriated amount from his monetary benefits†Aavin officials said.
