Coimbatore: The Coimbatore police have arrested a man named Prashant Uthaman for duping Ashok Kumar, a car mechanic from Thirumangalam in Madurai district of Rs 9 lakh on the pretext of getting him a central government job.
Ashok Kumar (30) hails from Thirumangalam in Madurai district. He works as a car mechanic in a showroom.
Prasanth Uthaman is said to have introduced himself to Ashok Kumar by stating that he holds a high position at the Bharath Scouts and Guides.
He demanded Rs. 9 lahks for getting a job as Scoutmaster for Ashok Kumar and cheated him.
In the meanwhile, Prashant Uthaman arranged for a fake job order and handed it over to Ashok Kumar.
Ashok Kumar, who was shocked when he found that he was cheated lodged a complaint at the Saibaba Colony police station.
The police have registered a case against Prashant Uthaman and are investigating the case.
