Tirupur: Municipal authorities have recovered land worth Rs 1.50 crore allotted for public use near Udumalpet in Tirupur district.
10 per cent of the total area in urban bank colony plot near Tirupur road under Udumalpet municipality limits has been earmarked for public use.
10.50 cents of land has been approved by the Town and Country Planning Department and has been classified for setting up a park.
Thus, the plot owner has not handed over the land allotted to the public use to the municipality.
Following an attempt to sell it, the park land was acquired by the municipality and a notice board was put up for the public to know.

This has ensured that the public does not get rid of this place and is not duped. The total area of the reclaimed site is 10.50 cents. It is valued at around Rs 1.50 crore.
