CODISSIA has welcomed the announcements made by the Tamil Nadu government in the Budget 2023-2024 that will benefit the MSMEs.
Coimbatore: CODISSIA the industry body of Coimbatore has welcomed the announcements made in the Tamil Nadu budget.
The welcome announcements are:
* Rs 3,268 crore allocated for the industrial sector.
* Scheme to convert 71 Government ITIs into Centres of Excellence at a cost of Rs.2,877 crore.
* To extend the medical scheme to 6.35 lakh workers in 711 factories in search of people. These medical camps will be conducted with an emphasis on noncommunicable diseases such as high blood pressure and diabetes. Migrant workers will also benefit from this scheme.
* Industries will be encouraged to train the youth in the factories themselves. An amount of Rs.25 crore has been disbursed this year for this scheme called Factory Skill Schools (Factory Skill schools).
* Rs 77,000 crore new power generation project.
* In the second phase of the IT revolution, tech cities will be set up in Chennai, Coimbatore and Hosur.
* Construction of a new multi-specialty facility with a nursing college and hostel at Coimbatore Medical College Hospital.
* Action to obtain permission online for building plans.
* Rs 9,000 crore for metro rail services in Coimbatore.
In addition to this, Codissia had also anticipated the following in the budget for the development of small scale industries.
1. Solution to rising raw material prices.
2. Extension of interest subvention of 6% to all MSMEs.
3. Special Economic Zone for the manufacture of electronic goods.
We hope that the state government will take note of these issues and find a solution for the benefit of micro, small and medium enterprises.
