Coimbatore Court acid attack case: We need to investigate who sold the acid - Maadhar sangam

All India Democratic Women's Association vice-president Sugandhi met the acid attack victim at the Coimbatore court premises and consoled her. She also demanded an inquiry into who sold the discarded acid.

Coimbatore: All India Vice-President of All India Democratic Women's Association Sugandhi has demanded an inquiry into who sold the acid thrown at a woman in the court premises in Coimbatore.

In a shocking incident, acid was thrown at a woman named Kavitha in the court premises in Coimbatore. She has been arrested and an investigation is underway as her husband himself was involved in the act due to a family dispute.

All India Vice-President of All India Democratic Women's Association Sugandhi met Kavitha, who is undergoing treatment at a government hospital in Coimbatore, this evening along with the office bearers of the association and consoled her.

Later, Sugandhi told reporters, “The incident of acid being thrown at a woman in the court premises is shocking. In Tamil Nadu, such incidents have taken place when one falls in love and gives up because he refused to fall in love earlier.

Today, a man threw acid at his wife. We met the victim at the hospital and spoke to her. There is complete security for women in Tamil Nadu.

But we see with shock that women are not safe inside the court itself.

There are many women who come to the court seeking divorce and alimony. Where can women go and put up their problems if an unsafe event happens when women go to court?.

Tamil Nadu ranks second in the incidence of domestic violence in India. The Tamil Nadu government should take steps on a war footing to reduce such violence. Courts should be safe premises.

Where are acids sold? From whom did he buy acid? It should also be seen. Whoever distributed the acid should also be included as accused in the case. “
