Wild elephant dies of electrocution after it hits electric pole near Narasimhanaickenpalayam

Assistant Conservator of Forests Senthil, who reached the spot, has said that veterinarians would conduct an autopsy on the dead elephant.



Coimbatore: A male wild elephant was electrocuted after hitting an electric pole at Ravutukkollanoor near Narasimhanaickenpalayam.



The forest department officials reached the spot on information, and inspected the dead elephant carcass.



Assistant Conservator of Forests Senthil, who reached the spot, has said that veterinarians would conduct an autopsy on the dead elephant.



According to sources, a male wild elephant, which had come in search of food at around 7 am this morning, hit an electric pole when it was passing by the area, following which the electric pole was unearthed and fell on the elephant electrocuting it.
