Accidents can be avoided only by adhering to traffic rules: Coimbatore City Police Commissioner!

Coimbatore City Police Commissioner K Balakrishnan said most of the accidents can be avoided if the public follows traffic rules properly.



Coimbatore: Coimbatore City Police Commissioner K Balakrishnan inaugurated the awareness walk on 'Thalaikayam' held in Coimbatore.

Statistics show that most of the head injuries are caused by road accidents.

Notably, 10 to 12 per cent of the world's population is said to die annually from head injury.

In order to create awareness among the public about this, a thalaikayam awareness walk was conducted on behalf of Royal Care Hospital, Coimbatore.



Coimbatore City Police Commissioner Balakrishnan inaugurated the walkathon, which was presided over by Dr. Matheswaran.



Starting from Race Course Road in Coimbatore, Nanjappa road reached RoyalCare Hospital via Vakkamthan main road. More than 500 people participated in the walkathon.



Speaking on the occasion, he said that most of the accidents can be avoided if the public follows the traffic rules properly in line with the growing population and the number of vehicles.

As far as Coimbatore city is concerned, we are introducing various new methods to avoid traffic jams. This has been well received by the public.
