Tirupur: The Communist Party of India (CPI) staged a street corner campaign near Madathukulam in Tirupur district to press for various demands.
In Kaniyur area near Madathukulam, the Communist Party of India (CPI) campaigned at the street corner. Taluk secretary K Soundararajan, district administrator Subramanian, district committee member Ranadev and others participated in the street corner campaign led by secretary Chellathurai.
In the campaign, the tasmac shop located near the boys' hostel and the police station on the Kaniyur-Karathozhuvu road should be relocated. The Kaniyur PHC, which is said to be functioning round the clock, has patients suffering due to lack of proper doctors.
Steps should be taken to upgrade the hospital and appoint suitable doctors as there is enough space available. In rural areas, the free travel scheme for women is ineffective as bus transport is not available properly.
Therefore steps should be taken to run additional buses. Kaniyur bus stand should be upgraded. They also urged the police to monitor and take action against those who obstruct the public in public places and temple areas under the influence of alcohol during the hours.
