After a political turmoil, the AIADMK MLAs and MPs are back to their constituencies after a two weeks of bedlam. SP Velumani was one among the 122 legislative members who were put-up in a private resort at Chennai after the split by O. Panneerselvam. This Minister for Municipal Administration, Rural Development, Law Courts and Prisons addressed the party cadres at the AIADMK's 'Idhaya Deivam Maligai' office in the city. This meeting was convened to reassure the party members on the solidarity of the party and to brief on the birthday celebrations of their Supremo Jayalalitha.
It was announced at the meeting that the 69th birthday of Jayalalitha, on February 24th will be celebrated in a very grand manner in Tamil Nadu. Four resolutions were also announced in the meeting, by Minister SP Velumani.
When speaking at the meeting Minister S.P. Velumani said, “Former Chief Minister J. Jayalalitha's 69th birthday will be celebrated on 24th of this month. During her regime, various thoughtful plans for the city of Coimbatore was proposed among them are Avinashi Athikadavu drinking water scheme, special welfare schemes to Government hospital, expansion of Airport, Metro rail, a comprehensive bus stand, cold storage facility for farmers etc., Soon these schemes will be implemented'.

'DMK party tried to capture the Government by playing back door politics but we stayed together and showed them our strength. The mayhem at the TN assembly by the DMK legislative members is highly condemnable. Regarding the anonymous phone calls received by our Ministers and MLAs, we suspect the play of Sabaresan, son-in-law of Stalin, Working President, DMK. And, we are planning to give lodge a complaint with proof of evidence', Minister SP Velumani said.
'The uprising water crisis in Coimbatore will be dealt by the Officials carefully as due instructions have been passed on to the District Collector. Kerala government's construction of check dams across Bhavani will be dealt legally' asserted the Minister.
The Minister finally appealed the cadres to stay united and he affirmed that AIADMK continues to hold a special place in people's heart.
