Minister Pon. Radhakrishnan is here in the city to receive PM Narendra Modi who is about his evening to Isha Foundation to unveil the Adiyogi statue.
The Minister also inspected the works that are being carried for the construction of four lane road from Coimbatore to Pollachi.
While interacting to the press in Coimbatore Minister Pon. Radhakrishnan stated that, “City fame Echanari Vinayagar temple will not be impacted by the road extension works as a bridge will be constructed near the temple to avoid any damage to the temple. And, there is no need of acquiring land for the road extension works. During the construction of the over-bridge, saplings will be planted on both sides of the road. The natives of Pollachi and Coimbatore are keen on saving and preserving the greenery of their cities, hence four-lane road will be constructed and maintained well.” he said.
“The central government has allocated close to 60,000 crores for laying new roads and re-structuring and expansion of existing. Out of which, 10,000 crores has been allotted for the extension of ECR Road, Chennai. Post extension works, ECR will become an important economic corridor. This will lead to industrial growth that was hitherto ignored in eastern districts.
I am planning to meet Chief Minister Edappadi Palanisami regarding this and as he was previously involved with the roadways department, we hope he would understand the importance of this ECR project. In case, if the state government does not cooperate with the center in this project, then we have to assume that the state government is intentionally ignoring all central government plans.” he said.
