Suspension of 5 officials in Ooty for assisting students in Plus - II Mathematics exam

Five education department personnel have been suspended for assisting kids in writing their answers in the Plus-II maths exam near Ooty. The school education department took action after reviewing the visuals captured on the examination centre's CCTV camera.


The Nilgiris : The public Plus-II examination in Tamil Nadu will be held from March 13 to April 3. The public plus-one examination took place from March 14 to April 4.

For the Plus-II public examination, 41 centres were established in the Nilgiris area. The exam was taken by a total of 7440 students, comprising 3525 boys and 3915 girls. A total of 761 teachers were on duty for the Higher Secondary Examination, including 44 Principal Superintendents, 43 Departmental Officers, 86 Office Employees, 574 Room Superintendents, and 14 Question Paper Route Officers.

A flying squad of 69 men was also organised to prevent pupils from cheating on the Plus-II examination.



A complaint has been filed against a group of pupils from the Chamaraj government-aided school in Manjoor in the Nilgiris region for allegedly assisting a few students in writing their answers in the March 27 maths exam.

Officials led by Nilgiris District Chief Educational Officer Muniyasamy conducted an investigation, seized the CCTV footage, and sent it to the School Education Department in Chennai. It was discovered that the teachers had assisted the students in writing the exam answers.

Following this, Ramki and Murthy, who worked as room superintendents, Radhakrishnan, the chief superintendent, Srinivasan and Senthil, the route officer, and Senthil were suspended. The incident has caused a stir in educational circles. It should be mentioned that students who took the 12th exam previously stated that several of the questions on the mathematics exam were challenging, well-thought-out, and answered.
