At night, thieves took Swami's idol from the Chinna Kaliamman temple in Dharapuram. Two individuals were seen on CCTV stealing the idol at night. Dharapuram police have opened an investigation based on this information.
Dharapuram : In a shocking incident, an idol of Lord Samy was taken from the Chinna Kaliamman temple in Dharapuram.
Sri Chinna Kaliamman Temple is located in the Bheemarayar Agrahara neighbourhood of Dharapuram Thentharai in Tiruppur district.
Stone idols of Sri Indrani Devi, Maheshwari Devi, and Vaishnavi Devi were set atop the temple's outside prakara in all three directions.
After completing the pujas as usual, the temple priest, Praveen Kumar, closed the temple gate at 9 p.m. and went home.
When they arrived at the temple this morning, they discovered that the miscreants had stolen just the idol of Sri Indrani Devi on the outer prakara wall, along with the peeta.
After priest Praveen Kumar filed a complaint with the Dharapuram police, the Crime Branch officers arrived at the scene and reviewed the CCTV cameras in the neighborhood.
In the video, an unidentified person on a scooter came around the temple at around 9.46 p.m., and when the temple was open, an unidentified person dressed in a red dress hid in the inner prakara of the temple, and after the walk around the temple was possible, the idol of Sri Indrani was removed with the pedestal and handed over to the person standing outside.
Police have filed a report and are looking for the individuals who stole the temple's idol.
