Panchayat president assaults woman near Palladam - Police investigation

The woman, who was seriously injured in the attack with an iron rod by Paruvai panchayat president Ravichandran over a property dispute near Palladam, is undergoing treatment at a hospital. Kamanaickenpalayam police are investigating the case.

Tirupur: Arun Kumar hails from Paruvai village near Palladam in Tirupur district. He is survived by his wife Kavitha and two daughters. Arun Kumar, a farmer, rears 25 cows and poultry farms.

Two days ago, the cows reared by Arun Kumar reportedly suddenly fell ill and looked tired.

Only one cow died suddenly the day before yesterday. Arun Kumar, who called the veterinary doctor and examined it, found that someone had poisoned the cake consumed by the cows.

It is said that there was a property dispute between Arunkumar and his sister-in-law and Ravichandran, Arunkumar's brother-in-law and Paruvai panchayat president, for the past two years.

In this case, Paruvai panchayat president Ravichandran came to Arun Kumar's house and attacked Arunkumar's wife Kavitha with an iron rod. Kavitha, who was seriously injured, was rescued by the neighbours and sent to palladam government hospital in an ambulance for treatment.

Kavitha is undergoing treatment at palladam government hospital. The Kamanaickenpalayam police have launched an investigation on the complaint lodged by Kavitha about the attack.

Kavitha says, "Our livelihood depends on cows. Panchayat president Ravichandran is suspected of poisoning 25 cows to kill them. I thought he was talking about the death of cows.

The panchayat president attacked me with an iron rod. There is no security for the public in Paruvai village. Appropriate action should be taken against the panchayat president who was involved in the attack, he said.
