The National Highways department announced one-way traffic between Ooty and Mettupalayam (MTP) from 20th to 24th February due to re-structuring and laying of new roads on the route. Hence, all vehicles from Ooty to MTP were asked to use the Kotagiri road and vehicles from MTP to Ooty were asked to take Coonoor route to reach Ooty.
As the repair works have been accomplished, the National Highways have announced that vehicles from hereon can use both the routes normally as before.
As the season time is about to begin in Ooty, roads have been repaired and cleared off from pits for easy transit of tourist vehicles.
