Coimbatore courts makes face masks mandatory to Combat COVID-19

Coronavirus is spreading again across the country, including Tamil Nadu. In this case, the order to wear masks in all courts in the Coimbatore district went into effect today.

Coimbatore: Since April 10, the Madras High Court and the Madurai Bench of the Madras High Court have heard certain cases in person and some online. Lawyers have been instructed to make advantage of this capability, as well as the option of filing cases via 'e-filing' mode.

Masks have been made mandatory in high courts and subordinate courts in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry as a preventative step to avoid the spread of covid-19. The Registrar General of the Madras High Court, P Dhanapal, issued a notification in this regard a few days back.

As a result, starting today, court officials, workers, lawyers, and others in the Coimbatore district must wear masks.

Social distance and frequent hand washing are becoming required.

Lawyers should not attend court because the case is not on the list. Disinfectant should be sprayed in court rooms, judges' rooms, and court premises. Sanitiser has been placed at the courtroom's entrance and important locations.
