Four auto drivers and their families protested and submitted a memorandum with the collector's office, alleging that their fellow auto drivers were preventing them from stopping and driving at the auto stand near Thudiyalur bus stand in Coimbatore on the grounds of caste and religion.

Coimbatore: Auto drivers have filed a complaint with the district collector's office, alleging that they are being denied parking and driving an auto-rickshaw near Thudiyalur bus stand on the basis of caste and religion.

The four auto drivers and their families filed a complaint with the district collector's office, carrying banners demanding justice, alleging that other auto drivers were preventing them from parking and driving at the auto stand near Thudiyalur bus stand in Coimbatore on the basis of caste and religion.

Though they have already filed a complaint with the RTO and Thudiyalur police, they have also filed a petition with the district collector's office in case no action is taken.

However, because no action was taken, the auto drivers tried to set themselves on fire in front of the district collectorate for the second time a few days ago and were apprehended by police.

The auto drivers, who claim to have attempted suicide but have yet to receive justice, submitted a petition in front of the district collector's office today, carrying placards demanding justice along with the family, claiming that they were being prevented from driving autos in the area because of caste and religion.
