Father of minor boy in Coimbatore lodges complaint with police; Alleges torture by step-father

A 7-year-old boy was allegedly tortured by his step-father in Coimbatore leading to the boy's father lodging a complaint with the Ukkadam police station.


Coimbatore: In a shocking incident, a 7-year-old boy in Coimbatore was allegedly tortured by his step-father.

Sultan Ibrahim (33), a native of Tirupur district was married to Sarmatha, a native of Pullukadu in Ukkadam, Coimbatore, and the couple had a 7-year-old son. Due to differences of opinion, Sarmatha separated from Ibrahim and married Sadiq (38), an auto-rickshaw driver and lived with him in an apartment in Pullukadu in Ukkadam along with her son.

Sadiq, the step-father of the child allegedly tortured the child with a hot dosa ladle on April 15. Following this, the boy told his father Ibrahim about what had happened. The boy's father Ibrahim immediately lodged a complaint with the Ukkadam police station, seeking action against Sadiq for torturing his son.
