Tamil Nadu government should not give the permission to implement the Hydro Carbon project in Pudukottai district, says Vaiko of Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK)

The 25th General body meeting of the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) party was held in Varadharajapuram in Coimbatore.

About 25 resolutions were passed in this meeting including, contesting in local body elections, removing the exotic Karuvelam tree, preventing Kerala government from constructing check dams in Bhavani River.

Vaiko,  general secretary of the party when speaking to the press after the meeting said, "India should insist on a multi-nation enquiry into the genocide that happened in Sri Lanka at the meeting of the Human Rights Council in Geneva. The AIADMK members in the assembly were quiet during the confidence motion but the DMK members tried to intimidate the AIADMK members” he said.

“Secret ballot was not held in Parliament or in Tamil Nadu assembly so far he said. A secret ballot will pave way for horse trading he said. Former chief minister O. Panneerselvam is a product of DMK, but at the same time I am not a supporter of Edappadi Palanisamy “ he said.

“Tamil Nadu government should not give clearance to implement the hydrocarbon projects in Pudukottai district. The present chief minister should stick to the decision taken by the former chief minister J. Jayalalitha” he insisted.

“We will not allow Hydrocarbon, Methane and Neutrino projects to enter Tamil Nadu. The central government is doing nothing to prevent the illegal construction of check dams by the Kerala government in the Bhavani River.”

Commenting on the upcoming local body elections, he confirmed that MDMK will contest alone in the local body elections.”
