Public demand action against private bus drivers for flouting traffic rules on Mettupalayam Road

In spite of the construction of a flyover at Gounder Mills on Mettupalayam Road in Coimbatore being in progress, private bus drivers have been overspeeding and violating road rules on Mettupalayam Road.


Coimbatore: The public of late have been demanding action against private buses for violating road rules on Mettupalayam Road.

With construction work underway on Mettupalayam Road near Gounder Mills in Coimbatore, traffic jams during morning and evening hours in the area have become common.



Private buses plying from Mettupalayam to Coimbatore are seen overspeeding on the one-way road in violation of the rule posing the threat of accidents.



It has been reported that the private bus drivers flout road rules even when an ambulance vehicle is on the right track.

Hence, there has been an increased demand to take immediate action against the private bus drivers for violating road rules.
