Two persons have been arrested and jailed for selling Kerala lottery tickets banned by the Tamil Nadu government in Thadagam area. Lottery tickets kept for sale have also been seized.
Coimbatore: Police have arrested two persons for selling Kerala lottery tickets banned by the Tamil Nadu government near Thadagam.
The Thadagam police received information that certain people were selling Kerala lottery tickets, banned by the Tamil Nadu government, in areas under the jurisdiction of Thadagam police in Coimbatore.
On the orders of the District Superintendent of Police, Sub-Inspector Arumuga Nayanar of Thadagam police station and constables Surendran, Muni, Jana and Karthi conducted a raid.
The police arrested Madhan Edayarpalayam resident who was selling Kerala lottery banned by the Tamil Nadu government in the Thiruvalluvar Nagar area, and Hansraj, a Pappanaickenpalayam resident, who was involved in the sale in the Pannimadai area.
The police also seized lottery tickets kept for sale from them and lodged the two in Coimbatore central jail.
