Donors to the Idhayam Foundation, which helps children with diabetes, were honoured at The Hearts Foundation's 6th anniversary celebrations in Coimbatore.

Coimbatore:The 'Idhayangal Foundation,' which is situated in Coimbatore and provides free medical aid and equipment to poor children suffering from type 1 diabetes across Tamil Nadu, celebrated its sixth anniversary at Chitra Arangam in Coimbatore.

Donors were felicitated for their generosity in assisting disadvantaged children with diabetes.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Krishnan Swaminathan, founder said, "The 'Hearts Foundation', which was started in 2017 with 10 children, is now helping 1,100 children. Further, writer Varalotti Rengasamy stated, "The government and even this society, which has a duty to protect these children and their parents with type 1 diabetes, owe it to the Hearts Foundation."

Doctors want to help people. However, due to the current legal provisions, many people are unable to provide such assistance."The Hearts Foundation lovingly embraces and helps those who have come in distress and alleviates their suffering. Their work is noble, he said.
