On April 27, the BJP's Scheduled Caste Wing State In-Charge, Shankar, was hacked to death by unidentified miscreants in Chennai. Protesting against the murder, over 200 BJP supporters staged a protest in front of the Coimbatore South Tahsildar's office.
Coimbatore: More than 200 BJP workers staged a protest in front of the Coimbatore South Tahsildar's office against the murder of BJP's Scheduled Caste Wing functionary, Shankar in Chennai.

On April 27, BJP's Scheduled Caste State Treasurer Shankar was murdered in Chennai. Nine persons have surrendered before the Court thus far, with regard to the murder. But BJP workers have been staging protests in various parts of Tamil Nadu on Tuesday, against the killing of Shankar.

More than 200 people, including Coimbatore City District Vice-President Mohanraj Kumaran, District General Secretary Prithi Lakshmi and senior leader Kanaga Sabapathy participated in the protest in front of the Coimbatore South Tahsildar's office and raised slogans.

They condemned the DMK government alleging that Tamil Nadu was turning into a killing ground, and law and order was deteriorating in the State.
