Methamphetamine drug seized near Neelambur in Coimbatore - 3 people arrested

The police arrested Varun (26), Nandakrishna (21) of Kannur in Kerala and Mohammed Arashad (20) of Palakkad and seized drugs worth Rs 1.80 lakh while they were trying to sell Methamphetamine, a high-end drug near Neelambur in Coimbatore.


Coimbatore: Police have arrested three persons from Kerala for smuggling high-grade drugs near Neelambur.

A special squad has been formed to check the ongoing sale of ganja and drugs in Coimbatore and the police have intensified the investigation.

In the recent past, college students and youth who have been buying methamphetamine, a high-end drug from Bangalore, have been selling it in Coimbatore.

To prevent this, a special team was formed under the direct supervision of district SP Badri Narayanan and the suspects were brought under surveillance.

The special cell police, which was tracking some people who had procured high-grade Methamphetamine from Bengaluru, intercepted them when they arrived near Neelambur.

During their searches, it was found that they were in possession of Methamphetamine, a high-grade drug. Following this, they were brought to Sulur police station and interrogated.



The accused have been identified as Varun (26) and Nandakrishna (21) from Kannur in Kerala and Mohammed Arashad (20) from Palakkad, both of whom were in the second year of a private college in Coimbatore.

It was also revealed that they had procured drugs from Bengaluru and targeted and sold them to college students.

The police arrested the trio and seized 60 grams of methamphetamine worth Rs 1.80 lakh from their possession. The three were produced in court and sent to jail.
