Coimbatore Agricultural University celebrated its 53rd Foundation Day on Thursday. District Collector Kranthi kumar Pati attended the event and presented awards to the best woman scientist, best agricultural extension officer and employees who have served for 25 years.
Coimbatore: District Collector Kranthi kumar Pati participated in the 53rd Foundation Day celebrations of Coimbatore Agricultural University and felicitated the students with awards.
The 53rd foundation day of The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University, Coimbatore was held this morning at the Convocation Hall of the University. Coimbatore District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati was the chief guest at the function.
Former Vice-Chancellors of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University C Ramasamy and K Ramasamy were also present.

All those who attended the event were welcomed by Geethalakshmi, Vice Chancellor, Tamil Nadu Agricultural University.

Kranthi Kumar Pati, the District Collector of Coimbatore, presented the keynote address on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University (TNAU) is assisting the district administration in finding solutions to the agricultural activities carried out on behalf of the district administration.
The alumni of Tamil Nadu Agricultural University have been working in various administrative and technical fields and contributing immensely to the development and technological development of the country. In the early days of independence, managing the demand for food was a major challenge.

But now due to the discoveries of scientists, our country is a self-sufficient exporter of food products to foreign countries. In the current scenario, factors such as climate change, industrialization of farmlands, shortage of manpower, and wild animals, including elephants and wild boars, are a major challenge to agricultural growth.
The university plays a major role in creating awareness among the government and farmers and in carrying out research. Many of the best students are studying at the Agricultural University. By encouraging them, you can turn them into entrepreneurs.
It is a matter of great pride that the Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is situated in Coimbatore. Further, under the guidance of various Vice-Chancellors, the University should be further developed and become the best research institute in the world. This is what he said.
