'I will not hesitate to fight myself, if Chidambaram disturbs the Dikshitars:' BJP State President, Annamalai

Annamalai stated that while the Chidambaram temple has been under the control of the Dikshitars, the State Government is now trying to control the temple in defiance of the Supreme Court verdict.

Coimbatore: At a media briefing in Coimbatore airport, the BJP State President Annamalai warned that he will not hesitate to fight if Chidambaram harasses the Dikshitars.

"The BJP does not want to comment on whether the Governor has the right to remove a Minister. But M K Stalin has in the past as the leader of the opposition urged Governors to dismiss a Minister. The Chief Minister is playing a double role in this issue. The Governor has mentioned in the letter that the removal will be done as per the directions of the Supreme Court. The CM knows that Senthil Balaji is corrupt and yet the Chief Minister is acting beyond limits," opined Annamalai.

He added, "We cannot speak on behalf of the Governor. Raj Bhavan is different and BJP is different. As many as 99 percent of the ministers in the Tamil Nadu cabinet are facing allegations of corruption. Many have cases pending in court. The Governor should take action against all. There is no personal hatred or attack on Senthil Balaji.

He hates the crime he has committed. It is the Chief Minister's behaviour that is against 'dharma.' Stone quarries are on strike across Tamil Nadu. Party-wise quarries are functioning in Karur. But the party that can come to power takes revenge on other parties. Senthil Balaji's younger brother is absconding."

"There is no public perception of the Chidambaram temple. While the Chidambaram temple is under the control of the Dikshitars, the State Government is trying to control the temple. The Government is acting in defiance of the Supreme Court verdict. The State Government should not disturb them. I will not hesitate to protest in front of the temple myself. The yatra will begin from Rameswaram on July 28. Amit Shah will inaugurate it. The walkathon is getting delayed as the party is due to travel to Africa for the event and the Home Minister has to be available," stated Annamalai.

On being asked his opinion on the movie Mannan, Annamalai said, "I haven't seen the movie yet. It should be taken so that no one's sentiments are hurt. Regarding the smoking scene in Vijay's film, I will not accept that youth and children will follow suit and get spoiled because of seeing Vijay smoking in the film.

Even on the road, they smoke. Won't they get spoiled by seeing it? But, the film should be released by following the rules and regulations of the Central Government and removing scenes that need not be there," said Annamalai. When asked if he would act in films, Annamalai responded, "I don't know how to act in real life itself."

To a question on moviestar Vijay's entry into politics, Annamalai responded, "Anyone can enter politics. If Vijay comes, let him come."
