Ex-student of private college in Coimbatore ends life by suicide at college professor's house at K G Chavadi

During investigation, it has been discovered that Velmurugan had taken the extreme step of suicide due to mental trauma owing to a treatment that he was undergoing for HIV, along with family disputes at home.


Coimbatore: Velmurugan (24) who hails from Ammapettai in Salem district studied B.Com at a private college in Coimbatore. It is reported that Velmurugan was not on speaking terms with his parents and elder brother due to differences of opinion over a family dispute.

Velmurugan reportedly arrived in Coimbatore from Salem and stayed in the house of a professor who taught at the college where he studied at K G Chavadi in Coimbatore.

Velmurugan allegedly went into a room all of a sudden and ended his life by suicide, by hanging himself. The K G Chavadi police, who reached the spot, recovered the youth's body and sent it to the Coimbatore Government Hospital for post-mortem.
