Lawyers' association staged a protest in front of the Coimbatore court premises against the Manipur riots

Manipur has seen an alarming amount of violence resulting in the deaths of more than 50 people and injury to many more. In response to this, paramilitary forces have been deployed and the Bar Association has also staged a protest in front of the Coimbatore court premises, calling for an immediate end to the violence in Manipur.


Coimbatore: More than 50 people have lost their lives in the violence in Manipur.



Many others have been injured. Paramilitary forces have also been deployed there.



Nationwide demonstrations are taking place to denounce the state and federal governments for failing to control the riots.



As part of this, the bar association staged a protest in front of the Coimbatore court premises. The lawyers raised slogans condemning the Union government and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.



They demanded that the violence in Manipur be stopped immediately.
