TMMK Laying Siege at the Coimbatore Central Prison demanding the Release of Long-Term Muslim Prisoners

The Coimbatore zone of the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam has been staging a blockade of Coimbatore Central Jail to demand the immediate release of 37 Muslim prisoners who have been incarcerated for an extended period. The TMMK has been organizing this protest as part of their earlier campaign to declare independence on the occasion of Perarignar Anna Centenary and MGR Centenary.

Coimbatore: The Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) led a siege of the Central Prison under the leadership of its president Jawahirullah, demanding the release of muslim prisoners who had been imprisoned for a long period.

It was attended by various political parties, including Thanthai Periyar Dravidar Kazhagam and thousands of Muslims.

Slogans were raised with placards in support of their demands.

In addition, demands were expressed in a novel way.

Speaking on the occasion, Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam president Jawahirullah said,

On behalf of the Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam's Coimbatore zone, we have been holding a blockade of the Coimbatore Central Jail to demand the immediate release of the 37 Muslim prisoners who have been imprisoned for a long period. Various earlier declarations of independence have long been released on the occasion of the centenary of Perarignar Anna and the centenary of MGR.

It wasn't simply the 37 Muslim convicts we highlighted previously. As a result, on the occasion of Muthamizh scholar Dr Kalaignar's centenary, we are staging a jail blockade to demand the release of 37 Muslim prisoners. We have insisted that it take place within a month. RN Ravi does not deserve to be governor of Tamil Nadu for even a single minute longer. The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu has addressed a letter to the President of India reflecting the sentiments of the people of Tamil Nadu.

The meeting of opposition leaders in Patna has dealt a serious blow to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In the next phase, opposition meetings will be held in Bengaluru, Karnataka's capital. The next step would be the 2024 elections in which the BJP-led coalition government could be removed from the previous regime.
