District Collector Chairs District Level Principal Trainers Meeting on Kalaignar Women's Rights Programme

District Collector Kranthi Kumar recently presided over a district-level training meeting in the Coimbatore collectorate meeting hall. This training was held for deputy tahsildars, deputy block development officers and volunteers of the Illam Thedi Kalvi Thittam who are the primary trainers on the Kalaignar Women's Rights programme.


Coimbatore: District Collector Kranthi Kumar presided over a district-level training meeting at the collectorate meeting hall in Coimbatore for deputy tahsildars, deputy block development officers and volunteers of the illam thedi kalvi thittam, who are principal trainers on the Kalaignar Women's Rights programme.

Speaking at the meeting, the District Collector said,



For the scheme, PDS fair price shops will be taken up as a survey unit and applicants will just have to apply at the application registration camp where their ration card is placed.

He also stated that every PDS fair pricing shop staff will have to go to their houses and hand over the Kalaignar Women's Rights Application to the families in their area on the dates set on a street-by-street basis. Help desks will also be set up in fair pricing stores to help those who cannot read or write fill out and submit applications. He also said that illam thedi kalvi thittam volunteers will be engaged in these centres.

He also stated that individuals who do not have a ration card, do not have an Aadhaar card, and are living in poverty should be listed in a separate register, and actions will be carried out to benefit them under the scheme. However, those who do not have a bank account can open a bank account after the application is accepted first, the district collector said.
