On World Population Day today, the Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu, and the Department of Health and Family Welfare have organized a number of programmes to raise awareness about the importance of population control. In Coimbatore district, an awareness ratha and a rally was flagged off by District Collector Kranthi Kumar Pati.
Coimbatore: On the occasion of World Population Day today, various programmes have been organized by the Department of Medical Health and Family Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu, Department of Health and Family Welfare.
In light of this, the Coimbatore district administration organised an awareness chariot in commemoration of Population Day.
It was flagged off by Coimbatore District Collector KranthiKumar Pati.
More than 150 students of PSG, KG and KMCH Nursing Training Schools took part in the rally, carrying banners with slogans on Population Day.
The rally, which started at the Health Services Office in Coimbatore, culminated at CSI School via Race Course.

This will be followed by an awareness seminar at Masanik Hospital, which is located near the Race Course. This is followed by essay and elocution competitions.
Coimbatore Government Medical College Hospital Principal Nirmala, District Health Services and Family Welfare Department, District Maternal and Child Welfare Officer, District Family Welfare Secretariat officials and staff were present on the occasion.
