Police in Coimbatore have arrested a man who allegedly smashed his adopted son's hand with a hammer in the Maruthamalai area. Govindan (40), the son of Chinnasamy, is from Amarjothi Nagar in Vadavalli Maruthamalai, Coimbatore. He married jyothi (38), a previously married woman from the same village, for the second time.
Jyothi has a sixteen-year-old son named Praveen. Due to conflicts between the husband and wife, the pair has been living separately for the past three months. In this situation, Govindan went to Jyothi's house today intoxicated and got into an altercation with her. Govindan also got into a fight with his son Praveen, who came to stop him.
