AIADMK legislators wear vegetable garlands to protest against the hike in vegetable prices

In the past two weeks, the prices of essential vegetables such as tomatoes, small onions, and ginger have risen sharply. This has caused distress to many households. According to traders, the monsoon and lack of supply from outside the state have contributed to this price hike, leading to opposition parties demanding that the government take action and ensure cheaper access for citizens.

Coimbatore: Essential cooking ingredients including tomatoes, small onions, ginger, and other veggies have seen a dramatic increase in price over the last two weeks.

According to traders, prices have gone up due to the monsoon and lack of supply of vegetables from outside the state.
