New Science Park in Coimbatore at an estimated cost of Rs.51 lakhs - Corporation Commissioner

Under the Namakku Naame project in Coimbatore, a Science Park has been setup Alagappa Chettiar Road, Tatabad, at an estimated cost of Rs 51 lakh with various special features including Dr APJ Abdul Kalam statue, rotating periscope, gravity ball, Newton's 3rd rule, and chain drive.


Coimbatore: A science park has been developed at a cost of Rs 51 lakh under the Namakku Naame project in Coimbatore, corporation commissioner Prathap said.

In a statement, corporation Commissioner Prathap said,

A science park has been set up at an area of 30 cents at an estimated cost of Rs 51 lakh under the Namakku Naame project on Alagappa Chettiar Road, Tatabad, Coimbatore Corporation Central Zone.

The visitor time at science park is open from 07.00 a.m. to 10.00 a.m. and from 4.30 p.m. to 7.30 p.m. for the use of students and teachers. No entry fee is charged to visitors here.

As per the orders of the Chief Minister, on 08.05.2023, Municipal Administration Minister K N Nehru inaugurated it for the use of students.



In this science park, periscope model, PSLV rocket model, Chandrayaan-3 model, gravitational instruments, Dr. Abdul Kalam statue, car structure, rain bow bend, rotating periscope, speed of sound, periodic table, wave motion, gravity ball,



The park has been designed with scientific special features, including Newton's 3rd law, Pascal's law, centrifugal force, gear bell and chain drive, conservation of energy mass and depression, mobius band, sensor, world-time globe type, moisture measuring meta, clock cage, echo tube, solar system, rain gauge, etc.



Students, teachers and the general public should visit it in person and benefit from it. This was stated by Corporation Commissioner Prathap.
