Income Tax Department Conducts Raids at Lottery Martin's Properties in Coimbatore on Oct 11th

The searches included Lottery Martin's residence in Vellakinar, Coimbatore, and his other establishments, including Martin's Homoeopathy Medical College and Martin Group of Companies, operating under the name Carbret Auto Components and Institutions.


Coimbatore: Officials from the Income Tax department conducted searches at various locations related to prominent businessman Lottery Martin in Coimbatore today.

The searches included Lottery Martin's residence in Vellakinar, Coimbatore, and his other establishments, including Martin's Homoeopathy Medical College and Martin Group of Companies. Income Tax officials are conducting a thorough investigation into the revenue department's findings.

Located near Tudiyalur in Coimbatore district, Vellakinar is home to Lottery Martin's business ventures. His Homoeopathy Medical College, Martin Group of Companies, and Carbret Auto Components and Institutions are operational in the area. The Income Tax department's scrutiny focused on these establishments.

During today's raids, the Income Tax department officials examined financial records and documents related to Lottery Martin's lottery sales. The investigation aims to assess whether any regulations were breached during the sales, which reportedly generated revenues of up to 910 crore rupees, and whether there were any violations against the law.

The case against prominent lottery businessman Lottery Martin was initiated by the Kerala Excise Department. The investigation, which began on April 25 last year, resulted in the Income Tax department scrutinizing various properties. Earlier, in June, several crores worth of assets were seized by the Excise Department. Following these developments, Income Tax officials have once again initiated a detailed investigation into the properties linked to Lottery Martin, focusing on his lottery business operations.
