Residents Returning from Israel in Operation Ajay Grateful to Central Government Upon Arrival in Coimbatore

Coimbatore District Administration emphasizes coordination with the Central Government for assistance to Indian citizens facing challenges in Israel.


Coimbatore: Expressing profound gratitude, residents who returned to Coimbatore from Israel through Operation Ajay, a special initiative to bring back Indian citizens from the conflict-stricken environment in Israel, were warmly welcomed at the Coimbatore Airport by the District Collector and officials from the Central Government.

Operation Ajay, a meticulously executed plan, facilitated the return of 221 Indians stranded in Israel due to the ongoing conflict. Among these returnees, seven individuals from various regions, including Kovai, Namakkal, Karur, and Nilgiri, reunited with their families in Coimbatore today. The District Collector of Coimbatore, Mr. K. Rajamani, personally received these individuals at the airport.

The returnees, comprising both men and women, arrived in Coimbatore via a special flight. The Central Government swiftly arranged their transportation from the airport, ensuring their safe journey back home. Several of them were students pursuing education in Israel.

During a brief interaction with the media, the District Collector, Mr. K. Rajamani, stated, “Seven individuals from Kovai, Namakkal, Karur, and Nilgiri regions have returned after being a part of Operation Ajay in Israel. They have been brought back to Coimbatore via a special flight. We have made necessary arrangements for their transportation, ensuring their safe arrival home. We urge anyone in Israel facing challenges to establish contact with the provided helpline numbers. We will swiftly coordinate their return.”

He further added that the Operation Ajay initiative, undertaken by the Central Government and the Ministry of External Affairs, demonstrated exceptional efficiency and sensitivity in bringing back Indians from the war-affected environment in Israel.







The returnees, along with their families, expressed their heartfelt thanks to the Central Government for the timely assistance and safe return to their homeland. They highlighted the efficient execution of Operation Ajay, which promptly facilitated their repatriation, ensuring their well-being and security.
