Park College’s ‘Fresher’s CodeWar V1.0’: A Coding Showcase for Tamil Nadu’s Engineering Freshmen

Park College of Engineering and Technology hosted ‘Fresher’s CodeWar V1.0’, a coding event for Tamil Nadu’s first-year engineering students, emphasizing skill development and competitive readiness in technology and coding.


Coimbatore: In a concerted effort to nurture coding skills among engineering freshmen, Park College of Engineering and Technology's Freshman Engineering Department recently hosted "Fresher’s CodeWar V1.0". This innovative coding event, held exclusively for first-year engineering students across Tamil Nadu, aimed to provide a competitive platform to showcase their programming abilities, essential for thriving in a challenging technological future.



The grand inauguration of "Fresher’s CodeWar V1.0" was conducted in the auditorium of the Kaniyur campus, with Dr. Anusha Ravi, CEO of Park Institutions, presiding over the event. An impressive turnout of 950 students from various colleges in Tamil Nadu registered for the competition, reflecting the event's widespread appeal.

Welcoming the attendees, Dr. Lakshmanan D, Principal of Park College of Engineering and Technology, emphasized the importance of such events in fostering the technical skills of students. In her presidential address, Dr. Anusha Ravi expressed her delight in having Dr. Prabhu Kalaiselvan, Director of Deloitte, Coimbatore, as the chief guest. She recounted her experiences with technology advancement, specifically her involvement in setting up Wi-Fi internet on planes during a project with Airbus, underscoring the inevitability of computing and coding in modern times.

Dr. Ravi's address also included sage advice for the students, urging them to take pride in their accomplishments, think big, and strive to solve problems as engineers. Echoing similar sentiments, the Chief Guest Dr. Prabhu Kalaiselvan presented three key elements for success: awareness, adaptability, and agility. He stressed the importance of time management and encouraged students to be bold in their career choices.



The event culminated in the distribution of awards, where the winners received cash prizes and certificates. Dr. Anusha Ravi personally congratulated the winners and presented the certificates. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. E Mohan Kumar, Head of the Department for First Year, marking the end of a successful and inspiring coding event.
