General Manager of Southern Railway, R.N. Singh, visited Salem Division, inspecting redevelopment works at Coimbatore North and Tiruppur railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme.
Coimbatore: Shri R.N. Singh, General Manager of Southern Railway, conducted a thorough inspection of the Salem Division today. His visit primarily focused on the ongoing redevelopment projects at Coimbatore North and Tiruppur railway stations. At Coimbatore North station, he reviewed various enhancements, including new passenger amenities like lifts, waiting rooms, a wider foot overbridge, and a revamped main entrance, all part of the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS).


Continuing to Tiruppur railway station, similar upgrades are underway. Platform No. 1 is being expanded, new lifts are installed for better access, and the main entry and parking areas are being redeveloped for improved aesthetics and functionality.
The General Manager encouraged swift completion of these projects. Accompanying him were key officials from the Salem Division, including Pankaj Kumar Sinha (Divisional Railway Manager), P. Sivalingam (Additional Divisional Railway Manager), and others. The inspection also extended to the Tiruppur – Erode – Karur – Tiruchchirappalli railway sections.
