Coimbatore launches 'Disability Census 2023', a significant initiative by the Tamil Nadu government's Department of Welfare for Persons with Disabilities, spearheaded in CS Nagar by West Zone Chairman Deivayanai Tamilmarai.
Coimbatore: In a major step towards inclusive development, the 'Disability Census 2023' was inaugurated yesterday in CS Nagar, falling under Ward 36 of Coimbatore. This initiative, led by the Tamil Nadu government's Department of Welfare for Persons with Disabilities, was launched by West Zone Chairman Deivayanai Tamilmarai.
The launch witnessed the presence of notable local figures including A. Tamilmarai, DMK Zone Secretary S. Viswanathan, District Weaver's Unit Coordinator Mani, Shanmugam, Lawyer Sundarraj, Aavin Nagaraj, Manoharan, and Rajendran.

This census aims to accurately identify and record the needs and numbers of persons with disabilities in the region, ensuring better planning and provision of services for this important segment of society. The event marks a significant step in recognizing and addressing the needs of persons with disabilities in Coimbatore.
