Mettupalayam Municipality Celebrates 'Samathuva Pongal' Festival

Mettupalayam Municipality commemorated Pongal festival with a special 'Samathuva Pongal' event, led by the Chairperson Mehareeba Parveen, Vice-Chairman Arulvadivu, and Commissioner Amudha.


Coimbatore: Today (Jan 11), the Mettupalayam Municipality hosted a special celebration of 'Samathuva Pongal' in the spirit of the Pongal festival. The event was presided over by Municipal Chairperson Mehareeba Parveen, Vice-Chairman Arulvadivu, and Commissioner Amudha.

Participants joyfully chanted "Pongalo Pongal" as the Pongal rice boiled over, symbolizing prosperity and happiness. This celebration of unity and togetherness was attended by Municipality Engineer Sugandhi, councilors, and a large number of municipal employees and workers.

The event represented the essence of Pongal, which is a time for thanking nature for its bountiful provisions, and was celebrated with traditional fervor by the municipality staff and officials.
