A 10 -year-old male elephant fell into an abandoned well near Kovanur, Periyanaickenpalayam.
It is presumed that this elephant could have slipped into the 60 feet well as it was uncovered. The elephant could have sustained minor injuries and looks alarmed, sources say.
However, the forest officials along with the fire service department and the locals are trying hard to rescue the elephant from the 60 feet deep well.
