Primary education teachers in Tirupur district, under the Joint Action Committee, staged a protest at the Palladam Tahsildar office, demanding the cancellation of G.O. 243 and immediate action on 12 agreed demands.

Coimbatore: Today, primary education teachers, represented by the Joint Action Committee of Tamil Nadu Primary Education Teachers, staged a protest at the Palladam Tahsildar office in Tirupur district. The teachers are demanding the immediate cancellation of Government Order (G.O.) 243, which they claim jeopardizes the promotional opportunities of 90% of the teachers in the primary education sector. Additionally, they are calling for the immediate release of an order pertaining to 12 demands agreed upon in a discussion with the School Education Minister, Mr. Dittu Jack, and his high-level committee.

The protest saw participation from primary education teachers working in and around the Palladam area, who raised slogans against the Tamil Nadu government, urging them to fulfill their demands promptly. The teachers' grievances focus on safeguarding their professional rights and ensuring fair opportunities for advancement in their careers. The demonstration highlighted the urgency and seriousness of the issues faced by the primary education teachers in the state.
