In anticipation of Pongal, TNSTC Coimbatore Division announces over 700 special bus services to various destinations from Coimbatore, with reorganized bus stations to manage festival rush.
Coimbatore: As Pongal festival is set to be celebrated on Monday, January 15, 2024, the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), Coimbatore Division, has planned to operate over 700 buses from Coimbatore to various destinations to facilitate people traveling for the festival.
To manage the expected rush, bus stations have been reorganized. Buses to Madurai, Theni, and southern districts will operate from Singanallur bus station.
Sulur bus station will serve buses to Karur, Trichy, and routes via Trichy. Buses to Salem, Tirupur, Erode, Anaikatti, Mettupalayam, and Sathyamangalam will operate from the Gandhipuram Central bus station.
The new bus station on Mettupalayam Road will operate buses to Ooty and Gudalur.
These temporary arrangements will be in effect from January 12 to 14, 2024. There will also be connecting buses from Gandhipuram City bus station and Ukkadam bus station to these terminals, as per the latest updates.
