Record 80 Lakh Pilgrims Visited Adiyogi in Coimbatore in 2023; 1.26 lakh on Jan 1, 2024 alone

The figure includes a substantial number of pilgrims en route to Sabarimala, who benefit from the dedicated facilities near the parking area, such as cooking spaces, free toilets, and showers.

Coimbatore: Adiyogi at Isha Yoga Center, a globally renowned spiritual icon, attracted a staggering 80 lakh visitors last year, establishing it as one of the most visited spiritual sites in the world. The first day of 2024 saw an impressive footfall of approximately 1.26 lakh people.

Since its consecration in 2017, Adiyogi has become a major draw for spiritual seekers and tourists alike, significantly boosting the daily visitor count at Isha Yoga Center. The figure includes a substantial number of pilgrims en route to Sabarimala, who benefit from the dedicated facilities near the parking area, such as cooking spaces, free toilets, and showers.

This surge in visitors has immensely contributed to the growth of Coimbatore’s tourism sector, especially in transport. The local economy, including tribal communities who run shops en route to Adiyogi, taxi services, eateries, and lodging facilities, has seen a notable rise in income. This indicates a direct and indirect economic impact on Coimbatore's spiritual tourism industry, highlighting the city's growing prominence as a key destination for both spiritual enlightenment and tourism.
