CM hits campaign trail in R.K. Nagar

Chief Minister Edappadi K.Palaniswami on Wednesday urged voters in Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar to vote for AIADMK deputy general secretary T.T.V. Dhinakaran in the by-election to the Assembly constituency as a mark of gratitude for former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.

Speaking at the meeting to introduce the AIADMK candidate in the constituency, Mr.Palaniswami said “the entire nation is watching the by-election to the constituency.”

‘All sections flourishing’

Claiming that all sections of the society were flourishing in Dr. Radhakrishnan Nagar because of the welfare schemes by the AIADMK, Mr. Palaniswami said “people who want to destroy the party were fielding candidates against us.”

Finance Minister D. Jayakumar said former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa had implemented welfare measures and infrastructure projects for all the people in the constituency. “ The constituency will gain significantly after the elections,” said Mr. Jayakumar.

AIADMK spokesperson Panruti S.Ramachandran said many people were making false allegations against V.K. Sasikala and asked voters not to believe such stories.

Mr. Dhinakaran said he was fully confident of winning. “We will work towards fulfilling the dreams of Amma. The development of the constituency will be my only goal,” said Mr. Dhinakaran.

The AIADMK also constituted a 152-member committee to look after the poll work.

The panel comprises chairman of the party presidium and Education Minister K.A. Sengottaiyan, Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswamy and all other Ministers. It consists of senior leaders such as Panruti S. Ramachandran, M. Thambidurai, A. Anwar Raja and Varahur A. Arunchalam.
