The Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) celebrated a Pongal flag hoisting event in Peelamedu, Coimbatore, on January 16, 2024, led by District Secretary Vaiko Guna at the Muththamizh Padippagam established by Navalar Nedunchezhiyan in 1958.
Coimbatore: The 28th Ward of the MDMK in Peelamedu, Coimbatore, marked a significant Pongal celebration with a flag hoisting ceremony at the Muththamizh Padippagam in Aavarampalayam. The event, which began with a welcome speech by Zonal Secretary S.P. Vellingiri, was inaugurated by Navalar Nedunchezhiyan, a notable figure linked to the renowned Annadurai. The MDMK flag was hoisted by the high-level committee member R.R. Mohankumar.
The sweet Pongal was distributed by District Secretary Ganapathi Selvarasu. The event saw the participation of many prominent figures including Deputy District Secretary Su. Thuyamani, Youth Wing members from Pazhaiyur, Krishnamurthy, N. Vasudevan, Retrose Venugopal, Perumalsamy, Pottu Nagaraj, Ayyasamy, Durairaj Velumani, Damodara Samy, Ashwin Thamu, Red Siva, Coimbatore Thambi, and Satish, among others.
